Setting up Cisco 67x in Routed Mode for multiple computers

The text listed in bold is what you should type at each listed prompt.
Text in italics should be replaced by the appropriate information from your setup worksheet.

Windows

Open Hypterminal
Create Session
Select Communications Port
Port Settings: 38400 (not bits per second)
Flow Control: None
Click OK

You should see a screen with either a flashing cursor or "Password:" prompt. Press Enter.

Macintosh

Open ZTerm
Select Settings
Select Connection
Data Rate: 38400
Data Bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop Bits: 1
Flow Control: Xon/Xoff

You should see a screen with either a flashing cursor or a "Password:" prompt. Press Enter.

Cbos# enable
Password: (your Cisco's password)
Cbos# set nvram erase
Cbos# write
Cbos# reboot
Cbos# enable
Password: (press enter)
Cbos# set rfc1483 enabled
Cbos# set dhcp server enabled
Cbos# set dhcp server pool 0 dns 204.246.77.77
Cbos# set nat enabled
Cbos# set nat outside ip (internet ip address)
Cbos# set web disabled
Cbos# set web port 56789
Cbos# set broadcast forwarding disabled

If you have a Cisco 677:

Cbos# set interface wan0 trellis-coding disabled

If you have a Cisco 677 or 678 and your line is the newer (installed after 4/1/2001) DMT style:

Cbos# set int wan0-0 disable
Cbos# write
Cbos# set int wan0-0 vpi 0
Cbos# set int wan0-0 vci 32
Cbos# set int wan0-0 enable
Cbos# write
Cbos# set broadcast forwarding disable

If you have a Cisco 675 or 678 but your line is the older CAP style:

Cbos# set int wan0-0 disable
Cbos# write
Cbos# set int wan0-0 vpi 1
Cbos# set int wan0-0 vci 1
Cbos# set int wan0-0 enable
Cbos# write

For all setups:

Cbos# write
Cbos# reboot
