Setting up filters in Netscape

These filters can be very broad or very specific so that they may be tailored to your needs. If used in conjunction with our Email Management Utility, mail filtering can greatly reduce the amount of junk mail you will see.

Netscape 4.x

  • Go to Edit
  • Click on Message Filters
  • Click on New
    Filter name:
    • Type a name into this filter, ex: "Junk Mail"
    • Click the button "Match any of the following"
    • Below this you can select your variables
      • Subject (This would be good for filtering junk mail)
      • Sender (This might be good for filtering junk mail)
      • Body (This would be good for filtering junk mail)
The next button asks what condition you want to meet
    • Contains (Probably the best option for filtering junk mail)
  • If you want to add another variable to your filter click the "More" button and repeat the steps above
  • Click "OK" to add the filter
  • Click "OK" to close the Message Filters window

Netscape 6.x - 7.x

  • Go to Message Filters
  • Click on New
