Minneapolis City DFL - 2005 Precinct Caucus - Sample Absentee Letter

If you are unable to attend your Precinct Caucus on March 1st, you can still send a letter asking to be chosen as a Delegate (or Alternate) to your Ward & City Convention.

Here is a sample of such a letter: 

Dear Convenor (Ward ___, Precinct ___)*,

I am unable to attend my Precinct Caucus tonight, March 1, 2005, but I would
like to be a Delegate or Alternate to my Ward and City Conventions.

If sub-caucusing is held, I would like to be part of the
_____________________________________  sub-caucus.

I affirm that the following statements are true:
     - I currently reside in this precinct.
     - I will be eligible to vote on Nov. 8, 2005.
     - I consider myself a member of the DFL Party, and
        I am not an active member of any other political party.
     - I agree with the principles of the DFL Party Constitution & By-laws.

Deliver this letter in one of the following ways:

  1. Give it to a friend or neighbor who will be attending the Precinct Caucus, and can deliver it to the Convenor that night.
     
  2. Send it by mail, fax, or email to the Ward Coordinator listed below.
    Mail this by Feb 25th, to make sure it is delivered in time.
