The meeting was called to order at 6:40 p.m. The Chair, Brian Melendez, presided. The Secretary, Julie Mattson Ostrow, recorded.
A quorum was present.
Adoption of Agenda
The agenda was adopted as printed.
Reading and Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the June meeting were approved as printed.
Directory. Secretary Mattson Ostrow exhibited a directory. She asked that each member check the available information and let her know any correction.
Affirmative Action Officer
Hennepin County Black DFL Caucus. The Affirmative Action Officer, Thomas Ross, reported in writing regarding the organization of the "Hennepin County Black DFL Caucus."
Unfinished Business and General Orders
Endorsement for City Council, Ward 8
The Secretary moved the resolution relating to endorsement for the City Council, Ward 8.
On David Finke’s motion, the resolution was considered as if in committee of the whole, from which the following resolution was reported and substituted for the pending resolution:
That the Party not consider an endorsement for the City Council, Ward 8, until after the primary election; and
That the Party support the efforts of Ward 8 and Senate Districts 61 and 62 in organizing two candidate forums before the primary election.
Timothy M. Bonham moved that when this meeting adjourns, it adjourn to meet on Thursday 13 September. The motion was adopted.
The resolution was adopted as substituted.
Tony Anderson Solgard moved the resolution relating to instant-runoff voting.
On Traci Scott’s motion, the meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
