Opening Business

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 6:34 p.m. The Chair, Brian Melendez, presided. The Secretary, Julie Mattson Ostrow, recorded.

A quorum was present.


Adoption of Agenda

The agenda was adopted as printed.


Reading and Approval of Minutes

The minutes of the September meeting were approved as printed.




Entenza for Attorney General

Matt Entenza, a candidate for Attorney General (if the incumbent, Mike Hatch, does not seek reelection), addressed the meeting.


Unfinished Business and General Orders

City Council organization

Bert Black moved the resolution relating to City Council organization.

William Nynas moved to amend the resolution by striking out the first resolving paragraph and inserting, "Resolved, That the Minneapolis DFL Party encourages the appointment of DFL candidates as chair of the Ways & Means Committee and as President and Vice-President." The motion was not adopted, with eleven votes in favor and sixteen opposed.

The resolution was adopted, with nineteen votes in favor and sixteen opposed.



The meeting thanked Scott Benson for his service as Congressional District Party Chair, an office which he would vacate when he took office as a Council Member.

The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
