Opening Business
Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 6:45 p.m. The Chair, Brian Melendez, presided. The Secretary being absent, Judy Melanson was appointed as acting Secretary, and recorded.
A quorum was present.
Amanda Tempel, a CD5 Director and a delegate from Senate District 59 to the State Central Committee, had taken a job with Hennepin County that conflicted with her political activity. She was therefore taking a leave of absence from her Party offices.

There were no minutes from the March meeting, which had lacked a quorum.

Campaigns
Flanagan for Board of Education
Daniel Miller spoke on behalf of Peggy Flanagan, an endorsed candidate for the MPS Board of Education.
Lee for MPS Board of Education
Wallace Swan spoke on behalf of Lydia Lee, an endorsed candidate for the MPS Board of Education.
Kerry for President
Steve Barrows spoke on behalf of the Kerry–Edwards campaign.
Special Orders
Endorsement for MPS Board of Education
The resolution relating to endorsement for the MPS Board of Education was moved as printed in the agenda.
The resolution was amended by inserting before the last period, "except that the question-and-answer period will end after 15 minutes".
The resolution (as amended) was lost, after multiple divisions of the house and freezing the floor, with 22 ayes to 26 nays.
Endorsement for MPS Board of Education
Abdiwahab "Abdul" Yusuf moved the resolution relating to police officers asking about immigration status, as printed in the supplemental agenda. The resolution was adopted unanimously.
