The North Central Morgan Association and the 1998 show committee join us in inviting you to the traditions, new and old, of the North Star Horse Show . We have been showing horses, making friends, business contacts and lovely memories at the North Star for the last 42 years. Showing Morgans is a family thing, and we find that our 'family' grows bigger and better with every year.
We would like to extend a special welcome to this year's judges. Arthur Perry, Jr. will be judging the English Pleasure, Park and Harness portions of our show. Mr. Perry is a renowned Morgan judge and has judged the Morgan Grand National numerous times. Nancy Eidam, in addition to an illustrious judging career, has been a member of the AMHA board for several years. Five-time National Pairs Driving Champion, Lawrence Poulin will be judging the carriage driving and conducting the clinic. USET member, USDF clinician, Olympic rider and trainer, Michael Poulin will be our dressage judge. Our hunter-over-fences will be judged by Zandra Powers, a local favorite.
The classes at the North Star showcase the versatility of the Morgan horse. We continue to offer all disciplines: park, pleasure, classic, English, western, hunt, youth, equitation medal, in-hand, hunter over fences, and dressage. Carriage driving this year will be open to any breed, so we look forward to seeing some new faces. The carriage driving clinic is again offered, as well as the glitzy nighttime stallion presentations.
The exhibitors' picnic will be on Friday afternoon. Even more games, prizes, food and fun are planned for this year. And, of course, aisle parties are encouraged! We are making an effort this year to include the 'non-horsy set' of your family in our activities. We will have an on-going volleyball tournament in place and a Sunday golf outing is planned. What's a horse show without a chance to catch up with old friends and make some new?
We are committed to the exhibitor by offering a safe and comfortable showgrounds, quality judges, friendly staff, challenging competition, and a good time.
There's no place like the North Star for the Fourth of July. Join us and bring a friend!
